Pathway Options

With the appointment of Jeremy Synot as Club President in 2013, Pathway opportunities have given rise to a number of Sunshine Coast Wheelchair Basketball athletes securing team placement in the Queensland RSL Spinning Bullets NWBL team, Qld junior teams and Australian U25’s and U23 women’s teams.

Currently, Suncoast Spinners offer three streams of programs catering of all levels of development. The Elite program caters to the experienced players pursuing the NWBL and Australian Team pathways.

Suncoast Spinners aim to have in place an Elite team to enlist in the NWBL competition within the next 3-4 years.  With our current level of success in recent years in local and state competitions the club’s development lends itself to this outcome.  Not only does Suncoast Spinners boast three NWBL players in 2016, further development of those members show great opportunities for them joining the Australian teams and reaching the Paralympics.

The junior program is for the beginners and younger players with pathways in place to the Qld Junior Teams and also the social program for those members wanting a more relaxed social game.
